ABOUT THOSE PSYCH TESTS:
Attention psychs: it's simple. Plan on releasing every bit of material
related to the friggin' tests -- or don't use them for "expert witness"
work.
"As otherwise required by law" means fundamental fairness,
transparency, due process, and the U.S. constitution. It doesn't mean
wasting other people's time and money to protect Pearson. Or your own
self interests. It doesn't mean an extortion racket, where litigants
in court have to hire yet another psych. It means forking over
everything immediately upon being asked to do so, to both sides,
without a subpoena or court order. It doesn't mean sending specious
letters to the judge professing "integrity" or faux ethics.
Professionals who actually have ethics and integrity don't accept jobs
that they know going on will create a conflict of interest.
Everyone else -- judges, lawyers, litigants: watch this space for more
info on how to deal with psych testing in court, as well as information
about the specific tests. Coming soon, an educational critique of the
MMPI, including a question by question analysis with suggested answers,
to illustrate why none of this precious nonsense ever should be used
for any forensic purposes. It's time to throw a little sunlight and
free speech on the alchemy and pseudo-science. The goal? It's time
that test publishers forbid psychs from administering any of these
tests in connection with court proceedings.
