KUALA LUMPUR: Last year marked a low point in children's safety and well-being, with police recording 257 cases of physical abuse against boys and girls.
The number, compared to 203 in 2009, is the highest recorded over the last five years.
That's not all. A staggering majority of the abusers comprise guardians or babysitters and, worse, the fathers themselves.
