The chief witness was Hawkin's 15-year-old daughter, who was 12 when her mother was killed. She told the Memphis court her 33-year-old father forced her to help him put her mother's body in a freezer and cut it up later using a circular saw, which he had bought on the same day as the murder.
Hawkin's daughter also told the court that her father had raped her repeatedly and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about their relationship.
