Keith Brown, Father of 'The 5 Browns' Piano Quintet Gets Ten Years to Life Sentence

According to a report from People Magazine, U.S. District Judge David Mortensen had the following to say to Keith Brown at his sentencing on Thursday in Provo, Utah.

"I think it's obvious a home should be a refuge and a safe place, and that a parent should be a protector," the judge said. He added that the incidents of sexual abuse weren't isolated incidents, but rather went on for a number of years.

The 5 Browns are an exceptional quintet of pianists, who travel the country performing at a number of venues. Three sisters and two brothers make up the quintet. They play mostly classical music.

Keith Brown pleaded guilty to sodomy on a child under 14, and two charges of sex abuse of a child, as part of a plea agreement. He didn't speak at his sentencing, but submitted a letter of apology to his family.
